About the role
- You’ll help manage the pulse of our social channels, ensuring high-impact content reaches our global community across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and beyond.
- You’ll ensure our visual stories are always ready to go and perfectly aligned with our mission. You’ll help organise our vast library of world-class digital assets and maintain a seamless content calendar.
- You’ll stay ahead of emerging tech trends and social tools, turning fresh insights into creative ideas that keep Web Summit at the forefront of the global tech conversation.
- Act as the voice of the brand by monitoring social channels and promptly responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions with a professional and friendly tone.
- Manage user-generated content (UGC) and flag any negative or sensitive comments for the Social Media Manager.
Requirements
- Education in marketing communications, or equivalent work experience.
- 0-2 years of professional experience, which can include internships, co-ops, or academic projects focused on social media management.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, including their features, best practices, and limitations.
- Familiarity with a social media scheduling platform (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and basic photo/video editing apps (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
- A strong eye for visually appealing content and the ability to think creatively about how to translate brand messaging into engaging social posts.
- Proactive, self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A desire to learn analytics and use data to inform content decisions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., Design, Product, Sales).
- Understanding of best practices for photography and video.
- Ability to speak and understand Portuguese is nice to have.
