Operations

• Partner with Engineering to design, test, and deploy cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (Gen-AI) models and tools to drive step-change improvements in issue discovery & detection, triage efficiency, and quality assurance.
• Leverage AI-powered insights and traditional triage signals to proactively identify emerging on-road issue trends, new risk scenarios, and edge cases. Develop and refine data-driven strategies for issue discovery and monitoring, enhanced by ML model outputs
• Serve as the key link between AI/ML development and operational execution. Define and document new policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that integrate AI tools and insights into daily vendor workflows.
• Design and implement robust quality control processes for both human and AI-generated outputs. Perform meta-quality checks, validate the integrity of vendor work, and provide feedback to improve both human and model performance.
• Act as the subject matter expert for our Software Quality Operations, working closely with stakeholders, program leads, and vendor teams to ensure seamless adoption and maximum impact of AI/ML advancements in our quality processes. Be the trusted source for creating and updating technical policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for new scopes, platforms, and driving signals
• Provide technical leadership and consultation to stakeholders to enhance our workflows and quality. You'll be at the forefront of identifying and escalating issues with our tools, providing technical requirements to engineering, and driving user testing to support the development and deployment of new tooling features.
• A proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining good judgment.

Software Quality Operations Specialist

Manager

• Own and develop data-driven demand models for Waymo infrastructure that maximize business value while aligning cross-functionally on operational constraints
• Use linear programming, stochastic modeling, simulations, and other optimization tools to derive high-impact business recommendations
• Architect and implement buffer strategies tailored to different infrastructure types to ensure fleet resilience
• Conduct rigorous variance analysis to address key gaps and drive ongoing improvements in overall plan quality
• Generate and publish high-quality demand plans broken down by specific infrastructure categories
• Own the demand review cadence and create the associated content necessary to facilitate cross-functional alignment on global plans

Planning Manager – Infrastructure

• Build and own the global framework for Global Operations Center capacity planning, acting as the primary program manager for resource scaling.
• Apply strong business judgment to ensure resource strategies accurately reflect commercial targets and real-world operational constraints.
• Oversee execution across large, cross-organization vendor partnerships, prioritizing structural efficiency models and strict SLA compliance.
• Provide critical input to decision-makers by translating complex capacity models into decisive narratives with clear P&L implications.
• Identify risks and advocate for structural fixes and "principled spending" rather than relying on temporary resource additions.
• Periodically perform technical deep-dives to ensure mathematical and capacity models remain transparent, verifiable, and free of "black box" assumptions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to deploy models within centralized planning ecosystems.

Planning Manager

• Own the commercial plans for the markets within your region, acting as the definitive voice and strategic driver for your territory within broader planning processes. You will partner closely with regional leadership and product teams to drive cross-functional strategy, acting with indirect ownership of the markets themselves.
• Drive comprehensive planning cycles with key stakeholders, understanding every working nuance of your markets to optimize operations across all intersecting areas of planning, product, and execution.
• Build and manage highly intricate models to accurately forecast, answer complex "what-if" scenarios, and extract deep operational insights that can only be gleaned through advanced planning processes.
• Uplevel core planning software and methodologies, applying expertise in Anaplan and intricate spreadsheet-driven models to ensure accurate forecasting and seamless alignment with corporate financial strategy.
• Lead business optimization initiatives, utilizing your strategic regional knowledge to translate chaotic hyperlocal friction—such as macroeconomic volatility, ridehailing marketplace dynamics, and infrastructure constraints—into structured business processes and decisions that ensure commercial success.
• Distill complex operational narratives from regional happenings to elevate business review meetings, conducting continuous "performance bridging" to trace key metrics to their systemic root causes, and then feed those bridges and insights back into their commercial plans

Commercial Operations Planning

Account Manager

• Identify, draft, negotiate and implement effective partner agreements that minimize financial and business risk exposure and drive results across the Waymo partnerships ecosystem
• Build relationships with prospective strategic partners and lead the RFX process for expanding strategic ops services to new global markets
• Develop and execute strategic plans to deepen and evolve Waymo’s strategic partnerships to support business objectives and expansion to future markets
• In partnership with stakeholders, build and maintain comprehensive partnership plans that support Waymo’s business objectives and current and proposed projects.
• Nurture and maintain business relationships at the executive level of strategic partners to enable smooth negotiations, accelerated timelines and a point of escalation
• Establish best practices and develop internal systems to facilitate Waymo’s work with strategic ops partners across teams

Strategic Partnerships Development Manager

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key airport stakeholders, industry associations, and and regulatory bodies in the Central and Eastern Regions.
• Act as a key spokesperson and representative for Waymo at industry conferences, events, and in discussions with external partners.
• Identify, prioritize, and pursue new airport partnership opportunities.
• Negotiate multi-faceted agreements with airport authorities and other key stakeholders to meet Waymo’s roadmap for testing and commercial operations.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including policy, product, engineering, finance, marketing, communications, strategy and legal to align on and achieve goals critical to Waymo’s success
