About the role

  • Act as an ambassador and face of Watermark
  • Partner and collaborate with the Director of Recruiting and company senior leadership to recruit and hire top talent for critical roles
  • Attract and recruit top talent, overseeing the entire life cycle of recruiting and applying recruiting best practices to support the company’s hiring goals
  • Understand and manage multiple technical and non-technical job requirements, including formatting, posting and maintaining open job requisitions in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Review inbound resumes in ATS and create screening questionnaires to assess fit
  • Respond to inbound applicants and conduct initial phone screens to introduce the company, assess qualifications and act as a primary point of contact throughout the selection process
  • Consult with candidates by understanding their qualifications and motivations and creating a value proposition to align their goals with the company
  • Coordinate and guide the interview process including scheduling technical interviews and conducting follow up
  • Implement sourcing tools and techniques such as online social networking, Boolean searches or leveraging AI to mine for candidates; when necessary, conduct cold calls and create interest to bolster qualified applicants
  • Maintain a candidate pipeline of qualified talent for current and future vacancies
  • Negotiate and extend verbal and written job offers
  • Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience, preferably for a federal or defense contractor or staffing agency
  • Demonstrated recruiting success managing a high volume req load and closing out vacancies by making high caliber placements
  • Understanding of and experience with the entire life cycle for recruiting including developing sourcing strategies, screening candidate resumes, conducting phone interviews, negotiating salary, and drafting offer letters
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems
  • Experience interpreting technical requirements and creating screening questionnaires to evaluate potential candidates
  • Proficient with Boolean searches and other sourcing techniques and strategies
  • Knowledgeable in current recruiting best practices and the evolving role of AI in talent acquisition
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable making decisions independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations
  • Must be results oriented and have the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Strong desire to gain knowledge and experience within Recruiting and HR or Business Operations
  • Willingness to travel to the DC Metro area up to once per quarter
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • AIRS SearchLab or similar training is preferred but not required
  • DOD Secret Clearance is preferred but not required
  • May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds
  • May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
  • Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
  • Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
