Job Level

About the role

  • Product Strategy & Objectives: Define and evangelize a multi-year vision for WMG’s distribution ecosystem. You will translate business challenges into clear, outcome-based objectives (e.g., "Instant Global Availability") that empower your teams to innovate.
  • Continuous Discovery & Innovation: Lead a culture of persistent discovery. Ensure your teams are validating ideas for value and viability daily, working in the "Product Trio" (Product, Design, Engineering) to tackle risks before a single line of code is written.
  • Coaching the PM Craft: Your #1 priority is the growth of your team. You will recruit and mentor Product Managers, coaching them to master deep user empathy and business viability. You will foster an environment of ownership where teams are measured by the problems they solve, not the features they ship.
  • Partnership & Advocacy: Cultivate trust-based relationships with leaders across global labels, legal, finance, and operations. You will act as a bridge, synthesizing their constraints into a shared vision that you champion across the organization.
  • Principled Innovation: Drive innovation with a conscience. You will be the architect of a distribution strategy that embraces the evolving AI landscape while building the guardrails necessary to protect our artists' livelihoods.

Requirements

  • Proven Product Leader: You have extensive product management experience with a track record of leading PM teams that ship products to solve complex problems, ideally with some exposure to the world of music and/or digital media.
  • Strong Technical/Business Sense: You can discuss system architecture with engineers and P&L constraints with executives. You understand that a great product must be feasible to build and profitable for the business.
  • Expert on the "Four Risks": You don't wait for a launch to see if a product works. You mitigate Value, Usability, Feasibility, and Business Viability risks upfront.
  • Extreme Ownership: You act as the steward of your product’s success. You embrace challenges as opportunities for leadership, rallying your cross-functional partners to navigate obstacles and find creative, viable paths forward—no matter the complexity.
  • Music-Minded & Mission-Driven: You have a genuine love for music and the people who create it. You are motivated by the idea that your work helps artists share their craft with the world and build sustainable careers.
