About the role
- Define and champion WBD’s enterprise data & analytics strategy
- Create technical roadmaps that balance innovation, scalability, and business needs
- Architect and govern data models, semantic layers, and analytic data products
- Partner with executive stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable data initiatives
- Provide technical leadership on large-scale, cross-functional data initiatives
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data modeling, metadata management, observability, and data quality
- Serve as a thought leader and mentor to senior engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MS/PhD in Computer/Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field strongly preferred
- 12+ years of progressive experience in analytics engineering, data architecture, or advanced analytics leadership
- Proven track record designing and governing semantic data layers and data product ecosystems at enterprise scale
- Deep expertise in SQL and proficiency in general-purpose programming (Python, Scala, or similar)
- Strong background with big-data technologies (e.g., Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated success engaging with C-level executives
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, strategic language
- Prior experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) based businesses strongly preferred
- Advanced experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
- Skilled at transforming complex, messy, or incomplete datasets into reliable, consistent models and data products
- Familiarity with applied data science and machine learning
