About the role
- Transform raw data into structured, high-quality datasets ready for analysis
- Architect and build scalable data pipelines using modern ETL tools and frameworks such as dbt and Apache Airflow
- Automate data ingestion from databases, APIs, and third party services
- Design and implement data warehousing solutions using Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, including dimensional models and star/snowflake schemas
- Transform raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets using SQL, Python, and other languages
- Conduct data validation and consistency checks; implement data quality monitoring and alerting
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Communicate technical concepts and data insights to non-technical stakeholders; provide training and support on data tools and best practices
- Implement and enforce data governance policies, manage data access controls and audit trails, and monitor data security measures
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies; provide code for hardening and operationalization with coaching and guidance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors degree preferred in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field
- Two to Four years of data engineering/SQL related work experience required
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Python
- Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
- Experience designing or working with Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Data modeling and dimensional design experience (star/snowflake schemas)
- ETL/data pipeline development and data ingestion from databases, APIs, third party services
- Data validation, data quality monitoring and alerting
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA as applicable)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to secure buy-in and influence stakeholders
- Goal oriented team player with positive attitude and excellent time management
