• Capable of reporting and write assigned stories, with urgency and accuracy, often under tight deadlines
• Utilize strong editorial judgment to quickly and effectively frame and headline news items for maximum impact, as well as provide key context
• Maintain contacts and monitor competitive landscape and variety of news products for developments beyond initial reporting
• Assist covering events and newsmaker interviews, singling out and writing news developments
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in pursuing breaking news stories and delivering updates in real-time
• May be deployed on field assignments to enhance breaking news coverage or to pursue distinctive storylines
• Monitor the competitive landscape and multiple sources for news developments
