About the role
- Responsible for managing WBD’s global trademark portfolio, including prosecution, disputes, and enforcement across multiple jurisdictions
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure brand assets are protected
- Proactively mitigate risk and support strategic brand initiatives
- Review trademark watch notices, provide recommendation re: whether to pursue, open matters with Docketing team, instruct foreign counsel, gather evidence to support claims, and review drafts of oppositions and other correspondence
- Responsible for large volume of US and International prosecution matters
- Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively verbally and in written communication
- Prepare and file USPTO applications and supporting documentation for the life of a trademark including office actions and renewals
- Run reports of docket and manage upcoming deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as trademark paralegal either with a law firm or in-house
- College Degree/Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment
- Understanding of trademark law and prosecution protocols including USPTO rules
- Knowledge of trademark databases, WebTMS and Corsearch preferred
- Knowledge of electronic file management systems, iManage preferred
- Foreign language skills a plus
