About the role
- create highly engaging, platform‑native content across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging social platforms
- partner closely with Channel Managers, the Video Editorial Team, and broader newsroom partners
- develop, produce, and elevate new storytelling formats, social franchises, and real‑time coverage
- oversee the creation of trend‑responsive vertical video and experimental formats
- analyze detailed platform metrics to identify insights, shifts, and opportunities for growth
- translate analytics into actionable content, creative framing, and publishing strategies
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of social media experience at a media outlet
- expertise in producing high‑impact social content, including video, visuals, and multimedia packages
- advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; additional editing or design tools a plus
- deep understanding of user behavior and mechanics across TikTok, Instagram, and other top platforms
- strong editorial judgment, writing skills, and creative instincts
- ability to manage multiple complex projects with tight deadlines
- flexibility for coverage during breaking news, holidays, and extended hours
