About the role
- Perform moderately complex professional accounting work in the recording and reporting of financial transactions
- Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, and perform analyses
- Ensure the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity
- Prepare work papers, financial statements, and various reports for internal accounting and auditing
- Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts
- Work with independent auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements
- Create and disseminate quarterly and annual statements, including the conversion from GAAP accounting to statutory accounting
- Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures
- Assist with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, document preparation, and other accounting-related activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in an accounting environment
- 2+ years using accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and statutory accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in spreadsheet applications
- Clean credit history as reported by credit report
