About the role
- Plan, design, develop and introduce provision, modification and maintenance of material handling facilities, transport, packaging, processes and systems for optimal material flow to support Production, P&A, Localisation and Export projects
- Analyze, maintain and control Logistics Planning Contracts by liaison with VWS
- Plan and prepare detailed logistics material flow concepts, layouts, drawings and job specifications
- Conceive, design and procure logistics facilities (stillages, pallets, dunnage, trolleys, racking) and packaging
- Define detailed project plans, prepare enquiry requests, evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers
- Prepare appropriation requests, purchase requisitions and budget prices for corporate investment programs
- Arrange project/facility/service acceptance and hand-over, conduct equipment demonstrations and trials
- Draft and update Logistics Material Handling Contract specifications and convene stakeholder meetings
Requirements
- Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics
- 3 years’ experience with logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment
- 2 years’ experience as a project engineer in Logistics Planning or equivalent planning environment
- Good planning, organizing and decision-making abilities in order to meet tight deadlines
- Able communicator with good written and verbal skills
- Proficiency with producing, understanding and interpreting 3D CAD drawings
- Full computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint and Word
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with SAP systems in Supply Chain Management advantageous
- German language proficiency advisable but not essential
