About the role

  • Act as a strategic partner enabling informed decision‑making aligned to Vodafone's strategy and Group Risk priorities.
  • Contribute to the design, evolution and implementation of the Global Risk Management Strategy and supporting Framework, incorporating emerging risk sensing, enhanced risk taxonomy, and integrated assurance priorities.
  • Lead top‑down and bottom‑up risk assessments across markets and Group functions, embedding consistency, aggregation of principal risks, and thematic insights.
  • Prepare high‑quality, insight‑led governance reporting for the Board, ExCo and assurance committees, ensuring clear articulation of risk exposures, appetite, controls, scenarios and required actions.
  • Shape and strengthen the global risk community, driving capability uplift, consistent application of the risk framework, and embedding of Group Risk’s maturity roadmap.
  • Partner with Strategy, Finance, Technology and Commercial teams to embed risk analysis into strategic bets, investment cases, budget cycles and major transformation programmes.
  • Support development of forward‑looking strategic risk intelligence, scenario planning and stress testing to inform strategic planning.

Requirements

  • We are looking for candidates with experience managing a broad range of enterprise level risks in large, complex organisations.
  • Backgrounds that include exposure to strategic, operational, technology and transformation-related risks tend to be particularly well suited to the role.
  • Able to synthesise complex information into clear, concise insights for senior executive audiences.
  • Experienced in designing and implementing risk frameworks, taxonomies and control environments across large organisations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and partner across diverse functions to embed risk into decision‑making.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience in scenario planning, emerging risk identification and thematic analysis.
  • Capable of building and leading a global community of risk professionals, driving consistency, maturity uplift and capability building.
