About the role

  • You independently and responsibly perform 2nd-level support for applications, services and infrastructure as a System Expert Operations (m/f/d).
  • You independently define and take ownership of Service Level Agreements and service KPIs for the services you are responsible for, monitor compliance, and proactively respond to impending breaches of targets and quality degradations, involving the necessary 2nd-level teams and specialist departments.
  • You identify, coordinate and independently implement proactive optimization measures together with the engineering teams to prevent incidents that could negatively impact customers.
  • You manage escalation processes up to the group-leader level.
  • You accompany and support roll-outs of new systems, services and software.
  • You independently create operational instructions for 1st-level support.
  • You serve as a point of contact and escalation level within the team for System Managers and System Specialists.

Requirements

  • A completed university degree (University/Fachhochschule) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 3 years of professional experience in IT application operations/telecom network operations.
  • Strong customer orientation and analytical thinking skills.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and Unix/Linux, ideally also experience with Java, Tomcat and Apache Webserver.
  • Very good knowledge in network/transmission technology and protocols, e.g. TCP/IP.
  • Detailed expertise regarding network structures, system technologies and protocols in modern telecommunications networks or IT networks.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, OCI, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Very good written and spoken English (C1 according to the CEFR).
