About the role
- As Senior Social Media Manager (m/f/d), you are responsible for social media content and activities (including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) for our sponsorship partnerships, with a particular focus on our sports-related sponsorships such as those with Borussia Dortmund.
- You manage the operational and strategic social content projects and activities associated with our partnerships, ensuring they are executed effectively, efficiently, and on time.
- You collaborate with internal and external partners throughout the content production process, including creative agencies, production agencies, rights holders (sports clubs such as BVB, Fortuna, etc.) and rights brokers (e.g., Sport5 and others).
- You coordinate multiple brand interfaces, especially Commercial Management, Communications, Marketing, Events, etc.
- You prepare and deliver management presentations (including presentations to division leadership and, where applicable, internal committees).
- You create and maintain an integrated sponsorship editorial calendar for the brand’s social media activities.
- You support tests to optimize reach, engagement, and the demonstrable positive impact of our brand content and messaging across social networks.
Requirements
- University degree in sports marketing, marketing, communications, business administration, or a comparable qualification.
- At least five years of professional experience as a project manager at a senior level, with demonstrated success in the operational marketing management of sports sponsorship projects and in shaping and leveraging rights portfolios.
- These experiences were ideally gained at a football club, a comparable sport organization, or in sports marketing on the client or agency side.
- Proven competencies in social media management.
- Experience in stakeholder management and negotiation.
- Strategic, conceptual, and entrepreneurial thinking with a strong focus on implementation.
- Strong communication skills, confidence in presentations, and a professional appearance.
- Very good German and English language skills (at least B2 level according to the CEFR).
