About the role

  • Own and manage the end-to-end month-end close process for multiple VC-backed startup clients.
  • Prepare and review accrual-basis accounting entries, including:
  • -Deferred revenue
  • -Accrued expenses
  • -Fixed assets and depreciation
  • Maintain accurate financial records using Online QuickBooks
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
  • Ensure financials are investor-ready and aligned with VC reporting timelines.
  • Support financial reporting required by founders, investors, and boards
  • Identify accounting issues proactively and resolve them with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with internal teams while operating independently

Requirements

  • Proven, verifiable experience working with VC-backed startups
  • Strong understanding of startup finance and investor reporting cycles
  • Extensive experience with accrual accounting.
  • Hands-on experience owning full month-end close.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
