About the role
- Design end-to-end solution and reference architectures spanning applications, APIs, integrations, data platforms, identity, and cloud infrastructure
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, CloudOps, Security, and IT teams to embed security and reliability into development workflows and cloud environments
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to guide the design and implementation of secure, reusable components and shared services
- Develop proofs of concept (POCs), automation scripts, tools, and reference implementations across application, data, security, AI, and integration use cases
- Participate in or lead architecture and design sessions with engineering teams and business stakeholders
- Simplify complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to influence direction and gain stakeholder buy-in
- Architect solutions that meet non-functional requirements including security, reliability, scalability, performance, and compliance
- Drive the long-term technical evolution of systems in alignment with organizational and technology strategy
- Act as a collaborative team member, mentor, and continuous learner while fostering strong cross-functional relationships
- Ensure solution designs comply with enterprise policies, standards, and directives established by the CISO organization and Data Governance.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred (Master’s degree preferred)
- 7 or more years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in software architecture or systems design roles
- Strong diagramming, presentation, and technical communication skills
- Ability to write code and scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell); prior hands-on software development experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services, including networking and security capabilities
- Fluency in networking concepts, Linux tools and scripting, IAM, OIDC, FGA, and modern security protocols
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data engineering, APIs, AI integration patterns, event-driven systems, middleware, and front-end architectures
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale, cloud-native, enterprise-grade systems
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and SOC 2
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi or Terraform
- Exposure to emerging AI-related architecture and security considerations, including RAG, MCP, and agent-based patterns
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cloud Solution Architect, CISSP, or equivalent) preferred.
