About the role
- Provide strategic direction to provider’s medical/surgical portfolio of categories for clinical contracting and sourcing optimization
- Manage and facilitate all sourcing events from RFP processes to contracting
- Drive system enhancements; proactively recognizing and delivering on new or improved processes and reporting
- Identify cost-savings opportunities and develop a formal work plan
- Partner with providers and key clinical stakeholders to address best practice opportunities
- Conduct the entire RFP process through evaluations and vendor assessments
- Build and foster ongoing professional relationships with C-suite and clinical leaders
- Present savings opportunities to provider C-suite and clinical leadership
- Conduct business reviews with key suppliers
Requirements
- Nursing degree preferred
- Advanced degree is highly desired
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in healthcare and/or health care operations required
- Medical/surgical experience required
- Value Analysis experience a plus
- Understanding of project management concepts needed
- Strong analytical skills and data interpretation needed
- Excellent business and financial insight with the ability to quantify challenges and suggest alternative actions desired
- Willingness to travel.
