About the role

  • Lead technical end-to-end initiatives, from discovery through design, implementation and production support.
  • Act as a consultative technical reference for squads and partner areas.
  • Design solutions for full payment flows including authorization, capture, settlement, reversal/refund and cancellation.
  • Define, develop and institutionalize standards, technical specifications and reference architectures for the payments domain.
  • Define integration standards with gateways, acquirers and sub-acquirers.
  • Create abstractions that support multiple payment providers.
  • Ensure idempotency, consistency, traceability and resilience of transactional flows.
  • Guide and validate event modeling, messaging strategies and failure-handling.
  • Ensure consistency between technical states and financial records.
  • Support the evolution of technical and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Define testing, quality and observability guidelines for high-volume systems.
  • Support analysis of critical incidents and definition of structural improvements.
  • Influence technical decisions with corporate architecture, product, risk and finance teams.
  • Raise the technical maturity and governance of the payments domain across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related Technology fields.
  • Experience with public or hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Solid experience with public or hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Strong foundation in distributed systems and high-scale transactional processing.
  • Experience with REST APIs, event-driven architecture and microservices.
  • Experience with messaging systems, queues, pub/sub and eventual consistency patterns.
  • Knowledge of high availability, resilience, observability and performance.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and quality engineering.
  • Ability to be hands-on when needed while maintaining a strategic vision.
  • Practical experience with payment methods such as card, Pix, boleto, recurring payments and split payments.
  • Complete understanding of the authorization, capture, settlement, reversal/refund and chargeback cycle.
  • Experience with gateways, acquirers and sub-acquirers.
  • Knowledge of risk, anti-fraud, disputes and chargebacks.
  • Experience with technical and financial reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and security requirements applicable to the sector.
  • Ability to assess financial and regulatory impacts of architectural decisions.
  • Hands-on profile with strong architectural and system-level vision.
  • Ability to influence multiple teams without necessarily having direct management.
  • Strong technical and executive communication skills.
  • High accountability for decisions that impact financial risk and reputation.
