About the role
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data platforms on Azure
- Define architecture standards, best practices, and governance for data platforms
- Architect and optimize data solutions leveraging Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
- Drive infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
- Establish and enforce CI/CD best practices for data and platform deployments
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, security, and compliance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data architectures
- Act as a technical reference for Data Engineering and platform-related topics
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on architecture and best practices
- Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into the platform strategy
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Cloud Architecture
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing data platforms on Azure
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric
- Solid background in Data Engineering (batch, streaming, data modeling, pipelines)
- Proven experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
- Strong understanding of data platform security (IAM, encryption, governance, compliance)
- Experience building scalable, cloud-native architectures
- Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders on technical strategy
- Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring teams
