Senior Embedded Software Engineer

• Developing and maintaining software for the VIO Link Gateway
• Supporting integration of Power Meter data, including electrical measurements, power-quality indicators, and event data
• Designing and implementing software components that allow the Gateway to act as a reliable integration layer between VIOTAS field devices, cloud services, and external on-site systems
• Developing communication interfaces, protocol integrations, and data mapping logic for energy-sector and industrial communication use cases
• Supporting Gateway functionality required for future interoperability standards and external integrations
• Translating requirements into clear implementation proposals aligned with the existing system architecture
• Developing maintainable and testable software components for data acquisition, transformation, communication, configuration, and system integration
• Supporting debugging, diagnostics, and troubleshooting across Gateway software, Power Meter interfaces, communication protocols, and cloud-facing integrations
• Collaborating with firmware, hardware, cloud, and operations teams to support product development, deployment, field issue resolution, and continuous improvement

Engineering Manager

• Lead, support, and develop a team of Embedded Software Engineers, including workload planning, mentoring, onboarding, performance review, and capability development.
• Own day-to-day software delivery operation for the team, including Kanban flow, backlog refinement, priority alignment, and progress tracking.
• Coordinate embedded software releases, ensuring that scope, quality, release notes, known risks, and deployment dependencies are clearly managed before release.
• Foster a practical AI-assisted development environment where tools such as coding assistants, automation, and documentation support are used responsibly to improve engineering productivity and quality.
• Work closely with Hardware, Manufacturing, Field Operations, Cloud, and other stakeholders to ensure embedded software delivery is aligned with product, operational, and customer needs.
• Translate business and product priorities into clear engineering work items including acceptance criteria.
• Improve engineering transparency by maintaining clear reporting on delivery progress, risks, blockers, resource constraints, technical debt, and release readiness.
• Support technical decision-making by facilitating design reviews, implementation planning, defect triage, and root-cause investigation.
• Drive continuous improvement in embedded software development practices, including code review discipline, documentation, test coverage, CI/CD usage, release governance, and maintainability.
• Ensure software development activities are appropriately documented and traceable across requirements, implementation, verification, and release evidence.
• Identify delivery, quality, and technical, risks early, escalate where required, and coordinate mitigation plans with the Head of Embedded Systems and relevant stakeholders.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, skills development, and long-term capability planning for the Embedded Software Engineering Team.

Embedded Software Engineering Manager

• Lead the development and commercialisation of new business propositions in the Irish and Northern Irish markets, taking these from a concept to realisation
• Deliver market entry and scaling of new propositions in line with agreed objectives and timescales to maximise the benefits achieved
• Champion and drive forward further strategic new business development / proposition commercialisation avenues as agreed with management
• Lead engagement with customers to support delivery new business offerings
• Develop very strong customer relationships and represent the company externally with customers, channel partners, at conferences, etc. as required
• Liaise with other functions within VIOTAS – leverage deep cross-functional collaboration – as required to develop and realise new business opportunities
• Act as the key point of contact, subject matter expert and focal point for new business propositions under development
• Create and deliver presentations and proposals both internally to management, and externally to clients, of the highest quality with extremely clear and concise insights
• Use all available information and market data, coupled with deep energy market, decarbonisation and regulatory landscape expertise to identify business opportunities
• Lead the development and negotiation of any required contracts with customers, suppliers, etc.
• Strategic assessment of any existing or arising commercial opportunities related to VIOTAS’ activities in Ireland / Northern Ireland, plus development and presentation of profitable business models and comprehensive execution plans to exploit these
• Act as a leader within the VIOTAS Ireland team, heavily influencing the direction of this part of the business and the company’s significant portfolio in the all-island market.

Head of New Business Development

Chief Operating Officer

• Own end-to-end operational performance across all markets — site availability, dispatch reliability, SLA delivery, asset health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Hold executive sign-off authority for operational readiness, ensuring that what the business commits to deliver can be operated safely and at scale before it goes live.
• Maintain executive-level comprehension of electricity systems, market mechanisms, and regulatory direction across all operating jurisdictions, and cultivate that comprehension across the in-market leadership teams.
• Lead the central operational functions — Network Operations Centre, Market Operations, and Field Operations — and the in-market operational leadership across VIOTAS’s operating markets.
• Act as the senior executive lead for major operational incidents, chair the cross-functional reliability governance forum, and own the incident response architecture.
• Build the capability, structure, and leadership depth of the operations function, and drive automation, analytical rigour, and continuous improvement across the operating model.
