About the role

  • Integrated into the IT Department, the school support technician will be responsible for managing the IT equipment deployed across all school establishments within the municipality.
  • Act as the link between the IT Department and the different entities of the primary school system (municipal education service, academic inspection) to ensure the operational maintenance of digital equipment provided by the municipality on its school sites.
  • Support users in taking ownership of and optimizing the digital equipment installed in the municipality's schools.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for school staff: principals, teachers, custodians for any incidents affecting digital equipment such as interactive whiteboards (TNI), mobile device carts, workstations, and printing equipment.
  • Provide on-site and remote user support across the different sites: hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Assist the City Hall dedicated team for occasional operations (incidents, requests, deployments).
  • Manage the inventory of devices in stock and in service.
  • Log, track and follow up on incidents and service requests with contractors engaged by the City.
  • Apply and manage service contracts with the City's appointed contractors and oversee contractor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with standards established by the IT Department (security, data confidentiality, etc.).
  • Monitor the security, integrity and performance of equipment.
  • Train users on digital best practices.
  • Enforce the IT charter applicable within the school environment.
  • Manage maintenance of hardware and software related to workstations.
  • Receive and store equipment intended for school establishments.
  • Manage the municipality's hardware and software and their access.
  • Validate the installation of new tools (hardware, software) in the production environment.
  • Define and update the specifications of workstations deployed on school sites.
  • Carry out preliminary studies for implementing new solutions and adapting systems to new usages.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a two-year degree (Bac+2) in IT or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Driving license (category B) required.
  • Proficiency with system environments (Windows 11 Pro) and hardware architecture (PC, mobile device carts, interactive whiteboards (TNI), printers and iPads).
  • Knowledge of systems, networks (Olfeo server) and telecommunications (infrastructure, cabling, protocols, administration tools, security, etc.) and common standard software.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions such as AirWatch and Intune.
  • Proficiency with ITSM GLPI (IT asset management/ticketing tool).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, service orientation and ability to work in a team are essential.
  • Autonomy and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders (school staff, education department, academic inspection, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Desirable: familiarity with local government and the national education system.

  • Working hours: 8:30–12:00 and 13:30–17:36.
  • Saturday morning on-call shifts (average 3–5 per year) 8:30–12:30 + weekend on-call duty.
