About the role
- Provide strategic media leadership to promote Victoria’s hospitals, mental health facilities, and community infrastructure projects.
- Provide strategic communications advice to senior leadership, proactively identifying opportunities and managing risks.
- Develop integrated media strategies that enhance VHBA’s reputation while effectively managing potential risks.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with government, industry stakeholders, and contractors.
- Develop and implement media strategies to ensure timely, accurate responses to all media inquiries.
- Research and create high-quality communications materials to convey complex information across media releases, publications, newsletters, websites, and other content.
- Collaborate with Delivery teams to communicate project activities clearly and manage community and stakeholder issues effectively.
Requirements
- Proven ability to develop and execute proactive media strategies within integrated communications plans, aligned with broader strategic objectives in complex, politically sensitive major projects.
- Strong understanding of government processes and decision-making, with the ability to anticipate and manage emerging communications, media, and political issues.
- Extensive experience identifying and managing media, reputational, and stakeholder risks in complex environments, supported by effective systems for timely, accurate, and coordinated media responses.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to develop enduring key messages adaptable across multiple channels.
