About the role
- Provide strategic drainage advice related to stormwater and flood risks management
- Review concept level civil engineering designs and cost estimates for infrastructure
- Review and comment on technical reports prepared by consultants
- Assist in procurement of contractors including the preparation of Request for Quotations
- Prepare written advice in the form of memos, briefing notes and email correspondence
- Help maintain, update and enhance the organisation's cost estimating databases
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (or above) in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- seven years’ experience in municipal engineering or civil consulting services (desirable)
- Drainage Expertise
- Understanding of flood risks and stormwater management issues associated with urban planning
- Civil Engineering Expertise
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in municipal or civil consulting services
- Civil Design Review
- Understanding of standards and regulations related to urban drainage systems
- Engineering Assessment
- Ability to analyse complex technical work and provide sound advice
- Technical Work Scoping and Procurement
- Experience in developing project briefs and procurement of consultant services
- Asset Cost Estimation
- Proficiency in design and cost estimating for stormwater drainage and road infrastructure
