About the role

  • Proactively identify and research new market opportunities, customer segments, and strategic partnerships aligned with VIAVI’s product portfolio and corporate objectives
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies and plans to penetrate new markets and acquire new customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, technical leaders, and procurement teams, within prospective client organizations
  • Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer needs assessments to inform business development initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams to define compelling value propositions and tailor solutions to meet specific customer requirements
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and business cases to prospective clients
  • Negotiate and close complex business deals, ensuring alignment with company revenue goals and profitability targets
  • Track and report on business development activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Represent VIAVI Solutions at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand and solutions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and threats

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management within the telecommunications, networking, or test & measurement industries
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying, developing, and closing significant new business opportunities
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, service assurance, and telecommunications technologies (e.g., 5G, fiber optics, cloud native networks)
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong drive to succeed
  • Ability to travel frequently as required to meet business objectives
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
