About the role

  • You will partner closely with the People Operations Manager and VGV’s external IT consultants to drive and manage IT processes/administration at Very Good Ventures.
  • Your primary focus is ensuring that employees at VGV have access to necessary systems and resources to ensure a smooth full-cycle IT experience and drive business results.
  • You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining policy related documentation to ensure internal compliance of VGV’s IT policies.
  • Complexity and ambiguity are a part of a growing organization, the person in this role will need to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, propose and implement solutions, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • IT Security Policy Compliance: Ensure all IT systems and activities are in strict adherence to established IT security policies and best practices.
  • Documentation & Change Management: Maintain and update accurate documentation related to change management processes.
  • Provisioning & Deprovisioning of Tools/Systems: Manage the provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts, software tools, and systems.
  • Hardware Lifecycle Management: Manage our inventory of devices and ensure that laptops and other IT-related hardware are deployed to the team prior to their start date and securely retired at the end of their lifespan.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements across IT systems and workflows.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including cloud systems, hardware, and software.
  • Help Desk Support: Provide support, ensure system reliability, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for employees, and serve as the key point of contact for IT-related inquiries.
  • Monitor IT Systems & Performance: Regularly monitor IT systems to ensure proper functionality, performance, and security.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of expertise in IT coordination, IT support, or systems administration (preferably at a tech company)
  • Previous experience working in Help Desk
  • Strong internal customer service skills and enjoy working with others
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting a fleet of Mac devices is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IT security best practices, tools, and protocols
  • Exposure to basic cybersecurity concepts like least privilege access and endpoint protection
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure management, specifically SAAS/cloud-based systems
  • Prior experience managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and familiarity around best practices for onboarding and offboarding users
  • Experience with change management and documentation best practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to prioritize and organize your time to get things done often under deadlines

  • Good listener and strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Have experience managing confidential information with discretion
  • Google Workspace Admin experience is required
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • English written and verbal proficiency is a must (C1 or C2).
