About the role
- Supports the design, development and testing of new applications, application changes, and upgrades
- Provides technical support, maintenance, development, programming and troubleshooting for Customer Information System (CIS) and integrations
- Provides reports, queries, data analyses, problem analysis and problem resolution; strong SQL usage
- Supports synchronization of data between GIS/CIS/AMI/MDM
- Develops and maintains relationships with external service providers, vendors and other support personnel
- Provides documentation, project tracking and management reporting to support department work plan
- Provides technical information for Disaster Recovery planning and participates in Technical Asset Review updates
- Complies with internal audit requirements, test policies and change control processes
- Participates in CIS Team meetings and contributes to decision-making processes
- Participates in after-hours call out for application support and performs System Restoration (SEOP) duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a client-focused IT support role
- Working knowledge of Customer Information Systems (CIS) or Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP), and billing systems
- Expertise with Oracle preferred or other relational databases such as MSSQL or MySQL
- Strong experience writing SQL required; experience with PL/SQL preferred
- Reporting expertise with one or more (Cognos, TM1, SQL Server reporting services, and/or Crystal Reports) is a plus
- Strong customer service ethic; ability to work independently or in teams with minimal or no supervision
- Project Management experience is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with MS Office applications, specifically Word and Excel; MS Project a plus
- Experience with utility application systems, billing systems and/or electrical infrastructure and design is an asset
- Must be willing to travel for training and User Group participation
- Valid driver's license required
