Database Administrator

• Manage and maintain all databases, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures.
• Monitor database performance, tuning for optimization and efficiency.
• Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and efficient data pipelines and databases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data models.
• Recommend appropriate data storage and processing technologies based on project requirements.
• Develop and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to acquire, clean, and transform data from various sources into usable formats.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality throughout the ETL processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data integration workflows, identifying and resolving data-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in the design, build, and maintenance of data warehouses and data lakes to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Implement data partitioning, indexing, and optimization strategies to improve query performance and efficiency.
• Work with data consumers to understand their reporting and analysis requirements and provide appropriate data structures and schemas.
• Adhere to and enforce data governance policies, standards, and regulations.
• Implement data security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking techniques.
• Monitor data usage and access patterns, identifying and mitigating potential data security risks.
• Optimize data processes and infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing to enhance data retrieval and processing speed.
• Proactively identify and address system bottlenecks to ensure efficient data operations.
• Design, construct, implement, and maintain automated jobs and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business analysts, and IT systems analysts to understand their business requirements and provide data and custom application solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to database administration.
• Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS).
• Coordinate and oversee OS-level patching and updates for database servers.
• Perform routine and advanced system maintenance and monitoring tasks.

Project Manager

• Provides project management for the development and construction of large-scale transmission and distribution substation projects. • Provides project management, technical oversight and leadership expertise in the development and construction of transmission and distribution projects. • Leads multi-disciplined teams through project development, preparation, approval and execution phases. • Responsible for all project governance including developing and maintaining project scope, budgets and forecasts. • Maintains project accuracy in the Capital Management System, and uses project management software to schedule, track and coordinate projects. • Works with the Legal Department on the development and management of contracts and agreements. • Keeps records to facilitate proper close-out of projects including change orders and commissioning records. • Ensures safety performance and compliance for projects and implementation of the Company Contractor Safety Program. • Manages communication and relationships with external parties including regulatory, developers, local municipalities, property owners and businesses.

Project Manager – Large Scale Technical Station

Analyst

• Be a part of the team that is transforming the power industry of northern and eastern Maine
• The IT Analyst II is an intermediate technical position responsible for support, maintenance, design and development for assigned Versant Power Information Systems
• Supports the design, development and testing of new applications, application changes, and upgrades associated with the specified applications and related integration tools
• Provides technical support, maintenance, development, programming and troubleshooting for Customer Information System (CIS) and the integration with other systems
• Provides documentation/project tracking and management reporting to support the department's work plan
• Provides technical information for Disaster Recovery planning and participates in annual Technical Asset Review updates to help ensure asset life cycle management
• Actively participates in CIS Team meetings and contributes to the decision-making processes
• Participates in after-hours call out for application support
• Performs other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration, (SEOP) System Emergency Operations Plan
