Lead mechanical design and environmental validation of ruggedized enclosures and mounting systems for smart antennas, radar/lidar/camera modules, and high-performance compute platforms
Ensure reliable operation in harsh automotive and industrial environments
Design enclosures and mounts with IP67+ sealing and thermal management
Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or Creo
Optimize designs for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost
Perform thermal simulations and structural FEA
Design passive and active cooling solutions for high-power compute systems
Define and execute test plans for vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and ingress protection
Support certification efforts for automotive and industrial standards
Oversee prototype builds and integration with electrical and optical components
Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in ruggedized product design, preferably in automotive or industrial sectors
Strong knowledge of materials, sealing techniques, and thermal management
Experience with IP67/IP69K design, vibration isolation, and EMI shielding
Experience developing 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (SolidWorks or Creo)
Experience performing thermal simulations and structural FEA
Experience designing passive and active cooling solutions for high-power systems
