About the role
- Supports day-to-day human resources operations and serves as a key point of contact for employees.
- Assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
- Ensures and maintains HR records are accurate and are stored in the HRMS.
- Processes the appropriate paperwork for employment changes, including benefits and leaves, disciplinary actions, terminations, payroll required documentation, inquiries into the HRIS system, and prepares any required documentation.
- Conducts new employee orientation and benefit sessions.
- Assists recruiter as needed.
- Maintains all fingerprint applications and cards.
- Ensures I-9 forms are completed and accurate and stored in the appropriate location.
- Assists with HRMS reporting.
- Assists with assigning and tracking annual compliance training.
- Tracks referral bonuses and submits appropriate documentation for referral to be paid.
- Assists with event / activity planning and scheduling meetings.
- Maintains Employee Service Award program.
- Maintains and sends out monthly birthday cards.
- Assists the Human Resources Manager / department with special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of human resources related experience required including compliance, benefits administration, and HRMS reporting.
- Familiarity with human resources regulations, policies, and procedures required.
- ADP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
- Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g., MS Office, etc.), is required.
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships, negotiate with end users, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
- Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
- Ability to carefully follow instructions and procedures, paying close attention to details to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- SHRM and/or HRCI certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
