About the role

  • The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Senior Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
  • Responsible for managing the overall performance and delivery of complex, large/cross-functional projects that range up to $10M; including scope, schedule, risk, issues and budget
  • Define project scope, resourcing, budgets and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors/partners
  • Lead multiple cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to ensure successful delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Lead and manage Project/Program Steering Committee
  • Lead and manage proposals (RFPs) as applicable
  • Lead detailed project planning, risk/issue management, stakeholder communication, governance, and compliance while strategically managing project portfolios
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential roadblocks to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Track and report team hours, costs and budget on a regular basis
  • Manage Vendors and related contracts
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team for quality
  • Develop and maintain standard project artifacts - project plans, agendas, risks, action items lists and ensure established processes are followed
  • Ensure that issues and risks are identified, understood early and dealt with in a manner that mitigates surprises, risk to scope, cost, and schedule
  • Measure project results and monitor key performance indicators to ensure objectives are met
  • Creates and communicates status reporting at all levels. Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing enterprise technology projects, initiatives and implementations
  • Proven prior experience performing in a project management role for multiple enterprise class efforts
  • PMI or other project management experience and certifications are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, advanced degree highly desirable
  • General understanding of information technology environments including infrastructure, systems and application software is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Project
