About the role

  • Source, develop, and advance acquisition and investment opportunities across the healthcare real estate landscape
  • Partner with the SVP and SIOs to identify and cultivate prospective customer and partner relationships
  • Source, assess, and advance a robust pipeline of investment opportunities by building relationships with operators, developers, brokers, and other industry decision‑makers
  • Collaborate with SIOs and Asset Management to understand existing operator relationships
  • Develop strong knowledge of Ventas’ acquisition process, including underwriting parameters, deal structuring, and documentation
  • Conduct initial screening and evaluation of investment opportunities and collaborate on deal structuring
  • Support underwriting teams and internal and external advisors to manage risk and drive timely execution of transactions
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects as needed
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Ventas within the healthcare real estate and investment community

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, real estate, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate and/or healthcare finance, investment banking, development, or acquisitions, including at least 3 years in a business development–focused role
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment
  • Strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, and demonstrated financial acumen
  • Proven ability to build trust, influence, and communicate effectively and persuasively
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a results-oriented, collaborative environment
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, initiative, and accountability
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
