About the role
- Perform underwriting and financial analytics for group medical, dental, vision, and related benefit programs
- Evaluate risk for new and renewal business using claims data, financial modeling, and benchmarks
- Support partially self-funded and self-insured accounts, including experience-rated arrangements
- Assist with renewals and marketings by spreading and analyzing financials
- Prepare experience reports, IBNR calculations, PCORI fee calculations, and financial summaries
- Partner with account management and producers to support retention and growth
- Attend client meetings to explain financial results and plan mechanics
- Educate clients on funding structures, risk drivers, and market trends
- Coordinate renewal underwriting and reporting with carriers, TPAs, and actuarial partners
- Support preparation of renewal financials and experience summaries
- Help develop standardized reporting and client deliverables
- Build working relationships with insurance carriers to support underwriting and renewals
- Deliver accurate monthly client reporting to internal teams
- Validate data accuracy for analytics and executive summaries
Requirements
- Experience supporting employee benefits underwriting or analytics
- Exposure to self-funded or experience-rated benefit programs
- Student health analytics experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with MedInsight preferred
