About the role
- Reporting to the Head of Marketplace Business Development, the Marketplace Business Developer is responsible for identifying and converting strategic brands to this new distribution channel, in line with the defined commercial strategy.
- Ensure the marketplace's commercial performance.
- Prospect high-potential brands to establish partnerships aligned with our vision.
- Conduct biannual mapping of brands across each sector.
- Identify new business opportunities and highlight the added value of our service offerings.
- Support brands during technical onboarding in collaboration with the onboarding teams.
- Develop one or more business plans according to different business models.
- Create new Brandsplace accounts in our tools.
- Conduct strategic monitoring of developments, innovations and best practices of competitor marketplaces.
- Be responsible for the marketplace's contract negotiations.
- Proactively manage opportunities with regular reporting.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the market (new players, product trends and working methods).
- Attend industry trade shows and events within the assigned scope.
- Set up competitive intelligence to understand the partner's digital strategy and adjust Veepee's proposals.
- Act as an external ambassador for the Marketplace offering.
Requirements
- Higher education degree (business school or marketing) with 3 to 5 years' professional experience in a similar role, ideally in a digital, e-commerce environment and/or a marketplace.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities, enabling you to build and maintain solid professional relationships.
- Customer satisfaction is at the center of your priorities and you demonstrate strong listening skills to meet client needs.
- Demonstrate consistent determination to achieve targets.
- Enjoy working in a team and can rally colleagues around common objectives, fostering effective collaboration.
- Strong persuasion and influencing skills to convince stakeholders effectively with a commercial approach.
- Successfully inspire and manage your client portfolio.
- Extremely organized and rigorous, capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Resilient with good stress management.
- Strong appetite for challenge, constantly seeking to outperform yourself and take on new professional challenges.
- Business- and results-oriented with a strong ability to identify and exploit market opportunities.
- Excellent prospecting, commercial negotiation and objection-handling skills.
- Proficient in Google Sheets.
- Comfortable working in digital environments.
- Good knowledge of the sector and/or a passion for its development.
- Understanding of financial issues (P&L, depreciation).
- Skilled in budget management and commercial tracking (KPIs, performance analysis, etc.).
- Fluent in English.
