About the role

  • Would you like to actively shape the future of the VDI in Baden-Württemberg and the Stuttgart region? Then join our team and take charge of our office.
  • In this responsible position you will coordinate the activities of the State Association and the regional Württemberg Engineers' Association (WIV), supporting the networking of professionals, companies and institutions.
  • You will coordinate the work of district and state boards, attend committee meetings and ensure a smooth flow of information within the association.
  • With strong organizational skills you will plan, implement and develop events that bring together professionals, companies and institutions – from regional formats to statewide events.
  • As the central point of contact you will support working groups, district chapters and networks in planning, communication and execution of their activities.
  • Through targeted public relations you will strengthen the VDI’s visibility, develop communication measures and strategically expand the digital presence (website & social media).
  • You will maintain and expand contacts with ministries, companies, associations and other partners, thereby building a sustainable network for the engineering community in Baden-Württemberg.
  • You will connect the district associations, promote exchange and, together with the volunteer committees, ensure sustainable cooperation – including responsible budget management of the state association.

Requirements

  • A completed university degree, ideally in engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of professional experience in a political, academic or corporate environment – preferably with work at the interface between different stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with club or association structures and enthusiasm for professionally supporting voluntary work.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in event planning – from concept to execution.
  • Excellent communication skills: you express yourself precisely, present confidently and find the right tone for different target audiences.
  • High proficiency in German (spoken and written) and confident use of digital applications, Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Diplomatic skills, initiative and flexibility, including availability for evening or weekend appointments.
Benefits
  • An organizational culture defined by appreciation, solidarity and openness, with flat hierarchies.
  • Individual introduction and personal mentoring to support you both personally and professionally during your onboarding. We also offer company-wide onboarding events.
  • 30 days of vacation, including company holidays on bridge days and between Christmas and New Year, plus a half day off on your birthday (on weekdays).
  • Flexible working hours between 06:00 and 22:00 with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Work–life compatibility: the possibility of remote work and a solution-oriented approach to family-related challenges.
