Backend Engineer – Platform Data

Machine Learning Engineer

• Design and build scalable ML services for enrichment workflows, including model training pipelines and high-performance inference APIs
• Deploy and optimize models using modern inference libraries and frameworks (ONNX, vLLM, TensorRT, etc.) to achieve low-latency, high-throughput performance
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to define data requirements, feature engineering strategies, and model evaluation metrics

Staff Frontend Engineer

Compliance

• Own and execute our strategy for how we approach ATOs across our customers.
• Lead the end-to-end ATO process for IL-6 (SIPR) and IL-7(JWICS) environments, through full authorization and follow-on compliance.
• Own RMF (Risk Management Framework) documentation and control implementation across multiple simultaneous ATOs
• Work with 3PAOs and federal government AOs to achieve compliance certifications and reports
• Ensure the implementation, oversight, monitoring, and maintenance of security configurations, practices, and procedures • Serve as a liaison between system owners and other security personnel, ensuring that selected security controls are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the lifecycle of projects
• Interface directly with government ISSMs, AOs, and security stakeholders to manage authorization packages and navigate accreditation tools (XACTA, eMASS)
• Design and implement role-based access controls, data classification frameworks, and audit logging capabilities for classified environments
• Architect solutions for handling TS/SCI data with proper controls and separation that meet DoD requirements
• Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, SRGs, NIST 800-53, and DoD hardening standards

• Translate program needs into technical narratives, clearly explaining how our software and agent-based capabilities map to requirements, constraints, and outcomes
• Scope and shape program-based pilots, defining objectives, success criteria, timelines, and pathways to scale
• Pitch the technology with credibility, leveraging your mission and domain background to build trust with program managers and technical authorities
• Navigate programmatic realities, including requirements development, budgeting cycles, contracting pathways, and stakeholder coordination
• Partner closely with product managers and engineers to ensure mission context is accurately reflected in technical scope, tradeoffs, and delivery plans
• Convert successful pilots into sustained programs, helping program offices justify follow-on funding and broader adoption

Mission Manager – Clearance Required

Security Engineer

• Build and run security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management for corporate IT assets
• Create and tune detections in our SIEM and EDR based on threat intelligence
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery
• Help design and implement security controls to support certification efforts
• Build, document, and execute continuous monitoring processes

Mission Systems Director

Engineer

• Architect, build, and own software solutions deployed directly to customer environments in support of mission-critical use cases
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer stakeholders, engaging with senior technical leaders to understand mission needs and represent Vannevar’s technical approach
• Own end-to-end technical delivery for your mission workstreams, from requirements gathering and system design through implementation, deployment, and sustainment
• Contribute hands-on code to improve product capabilities, performance, and scalability across customer use cases
• Build software that enables users to unlock value from large-scale data holdings, including text, multimedia, and geospatial datasets spanning over 46 languages
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners — including engineers, product designers, and mission domain experts — to plan and deliver complex software features
• Support government-facing technical artifacts as needed, including input to RFIs, RFPs, Statements of Work, and white papers
• Navigate and integrate with government IT ecosystems, ensuring solutions meet security, compliance, and operational constraints
• This is a fully remote role, but traveling is required - travel up to 20–30% to engage directly with mission owners and deliver capabilities in the field
