The compensation team provides internal compensation and classification consulting, job analysis, pay data collection and evaluation, pay structures, organizational structures, job classifications, market competitiveness and compliance.
Oversee the development, implementation, and administration of new and revised compensation programs.
Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes consistent with trends and university objectives.
Manage salary survey participation and recommend actions to ensure market competitiveness.
Monitor federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Review and analyze position descriptions for level and classification, market relevance, and internal equity.
Provide analysis for pay decisions and job evaluations and deliver timely, customer-focused deliverables.
Prepare materials, analyze data, interpret results, and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
Provide guidance and interpretation of compensation procedures and policies, including developing offers and addressing inquiries.
Review and monitor compensation resources and projects and implement improvements as necessary.
Manage special projects such as designing career architecture, job codes, salary structures, and partnering with IT for system integrations.
Produce research-driven data on executive compensation and assist in designing executive compensation and incentive strategies.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with departmental stakeholders and centralized HR team members.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is strongly preferred.
Professional certification in human resources or compensation is preferred.
At least four years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
Knowledge of trends and developments in compensation, including relevant legal issues is necessary.
Demonstrable experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, including the creation of v-lookups and pivot tables is necessary.
Experience with data analysis and interpretation is necessary.
Experience with research and data mining is necessary.
Demonstrable communication skills, both verbally and in writing is necessary.
Relevant experience or coursework in Compensation, Human Resources and Benefits, or Business/Finance/Math is strongly preferred.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community is strongly preferred.
