• Valmont is seeking a strategic and tech-savvy Director of AI Products & Automation to lead internal AI and automation efforts
• Translate cross-functional needs into scalable, AI-powered solutions and mentor a team of specialists
• Lead discovery efforts, define and prioritize use cases, shape product strategies, oversee development and deployment of automation and AI agents
• Work closely with stakeholders across departments and report to the Chief AI Digital Transformation
• Ensure scalable and secure implementation using platforms like Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or custom agents
• Establish KPIs to measure adoption, efficiency gains, and ROI and continuously refine AI strategies

Engineer

• Responsible as the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Automation & Robotics Technology for Valmont Manufacturing processes across steel, aluminum, fiberglass composites, and concrete.
• Develop and lead implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processes and improve existing processes.
• Develop methods to improve quality, capability, and competitiveness related to fabrication: thermal cutting, bending, forming, welding, coatings, process, robotics, and automation.
• Establish manufacturing best practices and support technical talent development at manufacturing sites.
• Manage manufacturing technologies and research cutting-edge technologies for inclusion in the Valmont technology roadmap.
• Lead or participate in projects regarding advanced manufacturing engineering processes; maintain project schedule, budget, performance, objectives.
• Develop, implement, and manage automation projects to improve manufacturing operations and reduce costs.
• Communicate with all levels of the organization and, when necessary, with customers and suppliers.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to manufacturing engineering; remain apprised of new technologies.
• Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products; implement and optimize automation and robotic systems.
• Identify and lead initiatives to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity; implement quality control procedures.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting; apply lean principles to improve process flow, yield, variation, and stability.
• Own new capacity investments and develop automation solutions from capacity gap or technology roadmap driver.
• Ensure process/equipment/project documentation captured in digital systems for knowledge retention.
• Partner with Manufacturing Plants on site technology roadmap and Smart Factory technologies (Industry 4.0, automation, PLCs, HMIs, collaborative robotics, AR/VR).
• Ensure Automation and Robotics vision & roadmap aligned with Global Operations; standardize equipment/vendors/technologies.
• Up to 50% travel, primarily domestic with some international.
• Lead manufacturing and process improvement projects resolving product problems: safety hazards, ergonomics, breakdowns, capacity constraints, quality, material handling, with focus on automation and robotics.
• Analyze operating costs to identify cost reduction opportunities across footprint.
• Meet or exceed project performance goals; work independently or in groups; strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
