About the role

  • Process end-to-end payroll across North America in compliance with company policies and statutory regulation
  • Collect, verify, and input payroll data including attendance, overtime, bonuses, expenses, and deductions
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and compliance across Canada and the U.S.
  • Manage pension and retirement programs (RRSP/DPSP, 401(k), OMERS), including remittances, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Process employee deductions, government remittances, and year-end activities (e.g., T4s, W-2s) in collaboration with Finance
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, including compensation and tax information
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and labour standards (e.g., ESA, FMLA, ACA)
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Reconcile WSIB and other regulatory reporting requirements across jurisdictions
  • Manage payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Partner with HR and Finance on employee lifecycle changes including hires, terminations, and compensation updates
  • Administer and maintain HRIS (ADP WorkforceNow), ensuring data integrity, system optimization, and reporting accuracy
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and HR metrics to support business decisions and payroll/benefits insights
  • Support performance review cycles and other HR processes within the HRIS system
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll, benefits, and HR operations
  • Provide support on employee communications, documentation, and general HR initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of proven experience as Payroll Administrator or similar role.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • PCP/ CHRP/ equivalent designation an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRA legislation.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Employment Standards Act.
  • Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Basic knowledge of the Pay Equity Act.
  • Intermediate knowledge of FMLA
