About the role

  • Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants
  • Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers
  • Communicate prompt with Regional Manager as issues arise including, but not limited to; participant safety, extreme weather conditions, staff shortages, etc.
  • Implement and understand the program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites
  • Lead and direct participants activities and (transitions) assigned by the Site Director
  • Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session
  • Ensure that all equipment is in safe condition to use
  • Storing or the transport of equipment may be necessary depending on location working
  • Check attendance roll for each session and check-out with parent sign-off for conclusion of each session
  • Stay at site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel
  • Perform marketing tasks as needed which include, but are not limited to, hanging flyers, working at marketing events, etc.
  • Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols at all times
  • Must understand and comply with the SafePlay code at all times
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching tennis is preferred
  • Instructors can be an employee of any age
  • To act as a Site Director the employee must be 18+ years of age
  • Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred
  • Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision
  • Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model
  • Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions
  • Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis
  • Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.
