About the role
- Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants
- Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers
- Communicate prompt with Regional Manager as issues arise including, but not limited to; participant safety, extreme weather conditions, staff shortages, etc.
- Implement and understand the program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites
- Lead and direct participants activities and (transitions) assigned by the Site Director
- Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session
- Ensure that all equipment is in safe condition to use
- Storing or the transport of equipment may be necessary depending on location working
- Check attendance roll for each session and check-out with parent sign-off for conclusion of each session
- Stay at site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel
- Perform marketing tasks as needed which include, but are not limited to, hanging flyers, working at marketing events, etc.
- Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols at all times
- Must understand and comply with the SafePlay code at all times
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience teaching tennis is preferred
- Instructors can be an employee of any age
- To act as a Site Director the employee must be 18+ years of age
- Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred
- Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model
- Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions
- Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis
- Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction
- Must have the ability to pass a background check
- Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants
- Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.
