About the role

  • Develops, manages, grows, and nurtures relationships between USAA and external strategic suppliers
  • Onboards and provides operational support for strategic partner relationships
  • Identifies opportunities for growth and builds strong relationships with key strategic partners including internal affiliates
  • Effectively initiates and manages supplier relationships with strategic supplier partners and internal business team members
  • Monitors strategic account partners satisfaction and applies data-driven insights to influence strategies to drive the achievement of business goals
  • Responsible for timely and appropriate resolution of escalations from strategic supplier partners
  • Partners with team to work with research, analytics, finance, and staff area leaders to identify, influence and lead cross departmental improvement efforts
  • Validates and codes moderate size and complexity invoices, requiring research to ensure accuracy and budget adherence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • 6 years of experience in supplier relationship management, to include supplier governance, procurement and/or supply chain management experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with applicable industry and products for the assigned functional area
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Accountability for complex tasks and/or projects required
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing and managing complex tasks and/or projects
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to influence decisions at senior leadership levels
  • Strong issue resolution and follow-up skills
  • Strong executive-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialog
  • Advanced level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends required
