About the role
- Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team-based selling model
- Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies
- Drive sales by increasing case growth and acquiring new business through sales presentations and territory management
- Work collaboratively with Specialists, marketing, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery
- Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence, directories, leads, and industry events
- Manage deliveries to the routing schedule and troubleshoot order process issues (mis-picks, short loads, stock-outs)
- Know market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products and pricing
- Conduct regular site visits, check-ins and follow-ups using personal vehicle to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required and motor vehicle record must be in good standing
- Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals
- Problem solving ability, organization, and negotiation skills
- Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Tech-savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs
