About the role

  • Review documentation for appropriate required elements
  • Abstract and code surgical procedures from all sections of CPT
  • Code more complex anesthesia cases if necessary
  • Apply appropriate modifiers
  • Code ICD10
  • Abstract anesthesia times and events
  • Identify and assign care team providers
  • Meet team KPIs including daily production and quarterly coding audit score requirements

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with complex surgical coding across all specialties
  • 4+ years of anesthesia coding experience
  • Current CPC certification required
  • Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types
  • Extensive knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of USAP employees
  • High proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
