About the role
- Review documentation for appropriate required elements
- Abstract and code surgical procedures from all sections of CPT
- Code more complex anesthesia cases if necessary
- Apply appropriate modifiers
- Code ICD10
- Abstract anesthesia times and events
- Identify and assign care team providers
- Meet team KPIs including daily production and quarterly coding audit score requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with complex surgical coding across all specialties
- 4+ years of anesthesia coding experience
- Current CPC certification required
- Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types
- Extensive knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of USAP employees
- High proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
