About the role
- Interpret design inspiration to create original artwork for pillows and throws across diverse techniques and styles
- Digitize and manipulate artwork to meet specific product requirements
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of pillows and throws construction, materials, and techniques across various categories
- Apply color theory principles to product design
- Utilize design tools and technology effectively
- Strong Communication across Designers and cross functional partners
- Maintaining product integrity from design creation through end stages of approval process
- Partner with PD team to ensure accurate design briefs and alignment with vendor capabilities
- Assist in the creation of design documents, such as assortment sheets
- Support the team with tasks such as pinning boards, organizing design tools, and replenishing supplies
- Contribute to the sample and strike-off review process, under manager supervision
- Design with consideration for price points and business needs
- Maintain an organized and accessible design library and shared workspaces
- Deliver information promptly to ensure adherence to deadlines and prevent delays
Requirements
- Proficiency in design software and tools
- Strong understanding of color theory and textile construction
- Ability to translate inspiration into original and commercially viable designs
- Emerging leadership skills, with the ability to mentor assistant designers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and vendor capabilities, developed through collaboration with sourcing and product development partners
