About the role
- Engage the team in promotion and adhering to safety practices, actioning countermeasures, and driving building cleanliness.
- Foster an open-door culture by removing barriers and addressing open items with urgency.
- Spend time on the floor with leaders and hourly teams for coaching and employee engagement.
- Sets clear goals and expectations for Operations Managers and Supervisors.
- Measures performance, provides feedback, celebrates success, and holds leaders accountable for achieving goals.
- Establish, measure, and create countermeasures and action plans for achieving key performance indicators in safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
- Responsible for providing strategic and level/long-term quarterly planning including labor planning, rate forecasting, and peak season plans.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; work on strategic projects that have total building and network-wide impact.
- Effectively engage and leverage the on-site supervisor and operations managers to solicit ideas and lead through understanding problems and implementing solutions to improve processes.
- Network with other leaders across the network to solicit feedback and share process improvements driving network-wide cost savings.
- Mentors and develops leaders and staff, builds talent pipeline, and proactively identifies risk to Org. openings.
- Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Global Supply Chain Systems Integration, Engineering, IT, Loss Prevention, Facilities Maintenance, On-Site Vendor Partners) to run building operations and drive project initiatives.
- Establish a partnership with the Brands to improve the overall customer experience, increasing speed to market, and the delivery experience.
- Partner with Inventory Control to identify opportunities to improve inventory defects and monitor the inventory health of the operation.
- Partner with fulfillment center facilities to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- The ability to work cross-functionally with home office, buyers, planners, customer service, logistics, and finance either face to face, over the phone or zoom.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years in a similar role or similar role in fulfillment, distribution, manufacturing, or call centers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving solving, and reporting skills
- Excellent leadership, team building, communication, and organizational skills
- Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory and warehouse management systems
- Ability to interpret information from multiple sources to make decisions
- Think through the advantages and disadvantages of a situation before making decisions
- Possess a strong sense of urgency (makes it happen)
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to develop associates
- Commit to results and maintain commitment, regardless of obstacles and frustrations
- Identify what needs to be done and do it before being asked or required by the situation
- Value team members, provides development
- Demonstrate the ability to manage change appropriately and effectively and is a strong role model to the team
