About the role

  • Support the technical and commercial development of sweaters and knit products across all URBN business channels
  • Drive the full lifecycle of sample development from proto through SMS, ensuring adherence to URBN seasonal calendars and milestone gates
  • Communicate daily with global vendor partners to execute sample demand plans and upstream T&A management
  • Review incoming samples to validate construction, yarn composition, finishing, and fit standards
  • Maintain accurate sample status in internal systems and reconcile against packing lists and allocation tracking
  • Create and maintain Y-Codes in Tradestone to ensure accurate fiber content, construction details, and yields
  • Manage yarn header and color card library to support design, testing, and sustainability objectives
  • Track raw-material invoices and maintain documentation for vendor settlement accuracy
  • Build and maintain buy-rolls based on factory capacity, yarn availability, costing strategy, and late add/chase needs
  • Ensure accuracy of Tech Pack materials and BOMs (fiber content, yarn specifications, trims)
  • Validate landed cost feasibility against margin targets and sourcing strategies
  • Support PO creation and maintenance including ship mode optimization and lead-time refinement
  • Partner with Design to evaluate yarn compatibility, construction feasibility, and supplier capabilities
  • Communicate approvals and production risks to factories proactively and with professional independence
  • Prepare materials and analysis for key yarn meetings and category leadership reviews
  • Maintain real-time visibility tools for WIP, inbound tracking, and vendor performance across global supply chain nodes
  • Update POHO and Buy-Roll reports with key milestone status including lab approvals and adoption outcomes

Requirements

  • Strong analytical ability with technical understanding of yarn and garment performance preferred
  • Proactive problem solving with independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently with international manufacturing partners
  • High attention to detail with speed and agility across multiple development cycles
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Science, Fashion Merchandising, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred
  • 0-1 years of experience in textile or apparel product development preferred
  • Technical understanding of yarn construction, gauge capabilities, garment engineering + stitch preferred
