About the role

  • Support the electrical design and development of cutting-edge wearable and other consumer devices, with guidance from senior engineers, focusing on detail, precision, and reliability. Assisting with electrical architecture, component selection, schematic design, and integration into PCBs and flex circuits.
  • Conduct thorough testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure they meet performance, quality, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Support manufacturing builds and testing of PCBs, flexes, and product subassemblies in collaboration with our manufacturing partners.
  • Work alongside mechanical and sensor engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components within the product's physical design. Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop embedded systems and ensure software-hardware compatibility.
  • Perform lab work and prototyping, such as assembling prototypes, running experiments, collecting data, and summarizing findings.

Requirements

  • Currently working towards a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Junior, senior, or graduate student status is preferred.
  • Relevant coursework or academic projects in circuits, electronics, embedded systems, or signal processing. Prior internship or work experience is required.
  • Intuitive understanding of analog and digital circuits and components, gained through coursework or projects. Familiarity with microcontrollers, common communication interfaces (e.g., UART, I²C, SPI), and basic embedded hardware concepts.
  • Experience working with schematic capture and PCB layout software (ie. Altium, Cadence, KiCad, etc)
  • Hands on experience building prototypes and validating electrical and signal performance using typical EE lab equipment: soldering irons, DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and power analyzers.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and using creativity to explore solutions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills are important. Be able to work effectively with other engineers and explain your work to both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Experience with ultra-low-power systems, MEMS sensors, optical sensing, wireless charging, wearables, or health-related devices. Familiarity with Python scripting to automate simple tests or data analysis.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and equity packages
  • Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
  • An Oura Ring of your own plus employee discounts for friends & family
  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus 8 days of flexible wellness time off
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave
  • Amazing culture of collaborative and passionate coworkers
