About the role

  • Work on-site with contract manufacturers for OURA products to support the execution of world-class high-volume ring production ensuring that manufacturing meets the required quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Work independently to devise daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to ensure robust monitoring and reporting of manufacturing performance to the required internal and external teams; this includes implementing and driving recovery actions and plans where necessary
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing and Quality teams to run data gathering and design of experiment studies to provide recommendations on process improvements to increase product yield, reduce product cost and support delivery
  • Ensure that best practices are communicated and implemented across all contract manufacturers
  • Work with the Quality function to understand current and projected field failure rates, then propose and implement solutions to improve field performance to enhance the customer experience
  • Manage on-site validation and qualification of new production lines or equipment
  • Co-ordinate PRQ validation activities on-site
  • Influence functions such as design and sourcing by providing recommendations on current and future product and footprint strategy

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working in a Supplier Manufacturing, Process Engineer, or similar roles. Ideally seeking someone with strong mechanical process development and design understanding
  • Proven track record working in/with consumer electronics manufacturing. Hands on experience of electronics assembly processes, automation, and collaboration with factories.
  • Experience in miniaturized products designs – preferably consumer electronics
  • Strong background in bringing up CMs and qualifying products with multiple lines and multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process parameters and statistical process control as well as experience in developing and fine-tuning process control methods and improving yields.
  • You work collaboratively and effectively in a complex environment and with cross-functional teams, external parties, and factories.
  • Systematic and organized way of working. You effectively identify and set priorities for the tasks at hand.
  • Expectation to travel up to 50% of the time with a minimum of being in Mexico 30+ days at a time
