Salary
💰 $150,000 - $230,000 per year
About the role
- Design, simulate, and optimize antennas for low-power wearable devices, including multi-band solutions.
- Build prototypes quickly and effectively to evaluate design concepts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to integrate antennas into highly constrained form factors.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations (e.g., HFSS, CST, FEKO) and validate designs with bench and OTA measurements.
- Conduct over-the-air (OTA) performance testing and troubleshooting in collaboration with test engineering teams.
- Drive root cause analysis and design iteration for antenna performance issues in prototypes and production units.
- Work with suppliers, CM partners, and manufacturing teams to ensure antenna performance is maintained throughout production.
- Document design processes, results, and performance metrics for internal knowledge sharing and regulatory compliance.
- Stay up to date on emerging materials, methods, and technologies in miniature antenna design.
- Travel to support prototype builds in both Asia, Europe, and North America: ~15-20% of time yearly
Requirements

- Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, or FEKO.
- Experience with antenna measurement tools (e.g., vector network analyzers, OTA chambers).
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, matching networks, and PCB layout considerations for antennas.
- Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to wireless communication, such as those from the FCC, ETSI, or ITU.
- Preferred:
- Experience designing antennas for wearable or ultra-compact devices.
- Familiarity with Bluetooth, BLE, NFC, UWB, GPS, and multi-band antenna solutions.
- Knowledge of SAR compliance and RF regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners.
