About the role
- Functions as an advanced coder in the abstraction and in-depth analysis of a variety of medical documentation
- Assigns appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes
- Analyzes, enters and manipulates database
- Responds to or clarifies internal requests for medical information
Requirements
- HS Diploma
- Associates degree in Health Information Technology or health related field, preferred
- 3 years’ experience as Medical Coder
- Knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT and HCPCS
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
