Architect, build, automate and scale tools used by product engineers for pre-production development and testing
Define and build the next generation of Upstart’s Ephemeral infrastructure (Kubernetes-based)
Partner with XCUT teams to ensure tools integrate seamlessly into Ephemeral Environments
Drive major improvements in tooling and infrastructure alongside teammates
Enable product engineers to rapidly spin up fully functional environments for development, preproduction testing, pen-testing, demos, and special use cases
Evangelize Ephemeral tooling by delivering best-in-class documentation and processes
Operate and maintain Kubernetes in production and ensure reliability at scale
Collaborate across teams to support Upstart’s AI lending products
Requirements
5+ years of experience in a DevOps/SRE role
5+ years of deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes in production
Proficiency and experience with Golang
Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, EKS) in production environments
Expertise in Linux systems: architecture, administration, troubleshooting, and operations
Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Architect (CKA/CKAD) or equivalent certification (preferred)
Proven ability to inspire collaboration and stay engaged on a fully remote team (preferred)
Experience designing and building Kubernetes operators (preferred)
Strong CI/CD skills, including building pipelines with automated test coverage (preferred)
Broad DevOps expertise across scripting, IaC, automation, configuration management, and container orchestration (preferred)
Hands-on experience with tools like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Artifactory, Harness, or similar platforms (preferred)
Ability to work East/West coast time zones and attend occasional onsite sessions
